Beginner Witches: A Little Night Magic

The darkness of night absorbs things that you want to release. It’s super powerful, loving, and comforting, too.

When you go outside in the evening and use these steps, you can neutralize anxiety, fear, fatigue and other negative emotions you may be feeling at the end of a day.

Here’s how:

  1. Go outside, to a place where your feet can touch the earth or grass.

  2. This can even be the hedge of a parking lot, if that’s all that’s nearby. It can be a little patch of earth or grass outside of your apartment building. You just need enough space to stand on it with both feet.

  3. Is it winter, and you can’t stand there barefoot? Then just imagine your bare feet connecting with warm earth.

  4. Feel into whatever is bringing tension, anxiety, anger, or fear in this moment. Really feel your feelings. You have to feel them and know they’re there in order to release them.

  5. Release into the earth any pain or negative emotions of the day, or emotions that you’ve been carrying around with you for a long time.

  6. Ask the wise, velvety night to untangle your problems (or painful mental/emotional states) by morning.

  7. Inhale calm, quiet, and peace. Know that the earth and the night have heard you, and it will be done as you intend and believe.

  8. In the morning, see what signs the night has placed in front of you. Give yourself a few minutes, in the light of the sun (even if it’s cloudy), to see what the night has wanted to show you in the light of the day.

  9. Don’t try hard. What comes spontaneously into your mind? Do you see any signs in your environment that give you an answer you need or inspire you? Is there something you must do, a step you must take? Or is it more of a letting go — and is the letting go a little easier now than it was yesterday?

Watch the YouTube short here, and save it, if you think you might want to do this process again.
