Tarot Card Magic: 3 Easy Spells to Try
If you have a tarot deck, you can create powerful tarot card magic.
(If you don’t have a deck, you can find images of the cards you need online and print them out. The Rider Waite Smith deck is in the public domain, so you’re not doing anything wrong.)
Remember, the most important ingredient is always your focus, passion, prayer, and belief.
Want to see if a simple tarot card spell can work for you? Give one of these a try.
Great for beginner witches, but also powerful when you’re traveling, or don’t have all of your witchy supplies on hand.
In each of the three magical workings below, you’ll need:
▪ a few tarot cards,
▪ an herbal oil or condition oil that corresponds to your situation (or just your favorite oil, with which you have a strong connection, or a favorite perfume),
▪ a candle in the corresponding color to your working or just use white — even a birthday candle or tea light candle will do.
Tarot Card Spell for New Love
Cards You’ll Need:
1) 2 of Cups (for committed relationship) or The Lovers (for passionate love that may not be “permanent”)
2) Knight of Cups for someone who’ll serve you or King of Pentacles for someone of means who will financially support you (or choose a court card of any suit, based on the kind of person you’re looking for)
3) 10 of Cups to attract someone who wants children and family life, 10 of Pentacles if you’re looking for a sugar daddy, The Sun if you want fun and happiness, The Star if you want to be surprised by a “dream” relationship (that might not last) — or whatever cards represents your desires fulfilled by the person you choose for the second card above.
Petition Paper:
In one sentence, on a small slip of paper, write exactly what you most want from this new love relationship.
Anointing Oil:
Choose an oil or perfume that makes you feel the feels in your petition paper. What kind of scent means “commitment” to you? What kind of scent makes you feel “sexy, crazy fun”? What kind of scent means “I can trust him”?
Have fun choosing the scent that will anoint your petition paper.
To anoint your petition paper, you can just put a little of the scent on your palms, rub them together and hold your written petition between your hands while meditating on the result of the spell that you want. Anoint your candle with a little bit of the oil or scent, too.
Candle:
Red for passion, pink for long-term happy relationship, or white (the universal candle magic color). Ideally, use a small candle that will burn fully in 20 minutes or less (birthday candle, or half of a 4” household candle or chime candle). Yes, a white tea light will work, too (but it will take longer to burn).
Incantation / Prayer:
Can be the same sentence you wrote on your petition paper, or you can just pray from your heart, pouring out your heart to divine spirit and speaking into existence what you want.
Do you feel rhyming incantations are more powerful? Create one that feels magnetic in drawing your person to you.
Creation of The Spell:
▪ Once you’ve assembled everything above, place the cards on your altar (or space) in the following order. Card 1 is on the bottom. Over it, place Card 2. And on the top, place Card 3.
As you place each card, say aloud or silently the meaning of that card. (For example: As you place the 2 of Cups, say, “Bring to me the perfect committed relationship that will give us both long-lasting happiness.”)
▪ Place your petition paper face down on top of Card 3.
▪ Above your petition, place your candle holder or flame-proof dish to hold your anointed candle.
▪ Light the candle, place your hands on either side of it and pray.
▪ Stay with your candle, praying/meditating on your desired outcome until the candle expires. (You can also snuff it out with your fingers and relight it to continue to work the spell the next day, or for several days.)
You can leave the spell where it is, and continue to burn candles on it for as long as you wish. For how to know if your spell is working, click here.
