Glamour Magic: Enchant Your Skin Care

This is a departure from my usual tarot and manifestation articles, but I wanted to share how to transform any skin care products you use (even just plain soap and water) into a true inner-and-outer beauty ritual.

Everything you do, from washing your face to putting on your makeup is a great opportunity to multiply the effects by enchanting it and making it a beauty spell.

First, the simple glamour magic to use anytime you touch your face:

If you notice things you don’t like when you look into a mirror, maybe it’s time to change that.

Think of an incantation/affirmation of how you want to feel instead.

I like to use something really simple, like “You’re just glowing today,” or “You’re so beautiful,” or “I feel happier and happier to be me.”

And you say that, silently or aloud, every time you wash your face, every time you use a beauty product, every time you put on your makeup.

When you do this, something inside you might rebel and say, “Nuh-uh! Didn’t you notice _______________, and ______________, and _______________?”

And you respond to yourself, “So what? That makes me even more unique!” or “That’s what this magic is doing: Making me even more beautiful/magnetic/(or fill in whatever you’d like to be) or, “Yes, I’ve been neglecting myself, but I’m giving myself lots of love now.”

The combination of saying these things to yourself at the same time that you’re doing a beauty routine is what makes the magic.

Why you might want to start doing skincare again (if you’ve given up on it for a while, or never done it):

  • It feels so good — and feeling good is the most important part of manifestation.

  • My personal skincare guru (a doctor) says that 80% of facial aging is skincare, and only 20% is any procedures you may be doing.

  • You'll be looking much better by day 7 -- and when you see your true self in the mirror, rather than someone who looks uncared for, it's a big, emotional lift.

  • You'll start getting compliments -- and who doesn't feel better when people ask you what you've been doing because you look well-rested, chill, and, well, like your old self . . . only better.

  • You'll feel an uplift in your mood that spills over into improving all other parts of your life.

The products I use

I rotate products — as I finish one brand, I’ll swap it out for a different one. This is because I feel that my skin “gets used to” products and rotating brands keeps jump-starting the process.

Yes, some of these items are pretty expensive (although, by no means the top luxury brands I could buy).

But this is a strategic choice. I’m still leveling up and expanding what I believe is ok for me to have. Skincare is one of the things I care about much more than expensive clothes, luxury bags, brand-show-off clothes, or a high-priced car (I still drive a Ford, and I love it).

Keep it simple

If you’re not used to making skin care part of your morning and evening routine, use just one or two products (two in the morning and two at night). Decide what your main skin care concerns are, and purchase products for those concerns exclusively. If you keep it simple, you won’t be as likely to give up.

And, the glamour magic we talked about at the beginning can be done just with what you already have. Enchant your soap, enchant your water, enchant your dollar-store cleanser, or your big jar of Ponds moisturizer. Everything works better with magic.
