Spell Soaps, Soap Magic, and Magical Things to Do With a Bar of Soap

Yes, you can create serious magic with a simple bar of soap from the grocery store.

Before you laugh -- give these a try (especially if you have a brand of soap you really love).

I've found that these work best if you have a favorite soap whose scent really relaxes or energizes you. Or you can remember, fondly, the soap that you bathed with as a child.

I use Ivory soap or Florida Water soap. I buy Ivory in bulk because I love the clean, pungent scent and it's super cheap, so I can keep one bar in my car, another in the shower, another in my purse . . . .

There are infinite magical things you can do with your soap. Here are just three to try.

For all three, your first step is to engrave your bar of soap with what you would like it to do for you. (You can use a ballpoint pen, a needle, a safety pin, or any sharp object for the engraving.)

Here are a few examples of intentions you might carve into your bar of soap. Pick one, or write your own.

  • Wash away all sticky negative vibes.

  • Your calming fragrance settles my emotions.

  • You revive me and calm me.

3 Soap Spells for You to Try

#1 Empower it to cleanse negativity that has somehow landed on you (or help you heal a broken heart). Here's how:

  • Take a shower with the soap while visualizing all negative feelings or unwanted thoughts dissolving down the drain.

  • If it's not possible to take a shower, rub the dry bar of soap on your hands and then pass your hands up over your face, over the top of your head and down the back of your neck. Or pass your hands over whatever part of your body is feeling the most distress.

  • You can also use a shower with your magical soap to help you heal from a bad relationship or to get over someone who broke up with you. Ask the soap to magically remove all of the pain and let you see how this loss will open the way for something better to happen.

#2 Create boundaries (energetic force fields or "wards") to protect your own auric field or your space, or your house, or . . . . Here's how:

  • Use the soap like a piece of chalk to draw invisible boundaries to your personal space (like an invisible fence).

  • Use the soap like a piece of chalk to write an incantation over your heart, for example, "I am safe from the negative emotions of ______________ (name the person)."

  • Draw with the soap around the perimeter of your front and back doors, to keep your home energetically safe from a negative person who will be visiting you.

#3 Carry the bar of soap with you as a charm that absorbs all negativity. Here's how:

  • Holding the soap in your hands, mentally transfer into the soap the negative emotions or vibes that you feel, or that have landed on you from others.

  • Then, simply by rinsing the soap, you wash those vibes down the drain and your soap is clear to use again for the same purpose . . . or for something different.

These are just a few ideas to get you started. Soap can be used for all kinds of magical purposes, not just for protection and energetic cleansing.

And remember:

No magic works with a one-and-done mindset. Consistency and repetition (bonding with any magical allies -- even with a bar of soap) is key.

The most powerful magic uses a kinship you create with spiritual allies that you feel deeply connected to.
