6 Things to Know Before Getting a Tarot Reading Online
Wondering how to get the best tarot reading online? (These same six steps will also get you the best in-person tarot reading as well!)
Try these, and you’ll be amazed at the difference when you do a tiny bit of preparation.
Your reading will go from being just interesting or fun to actually life changing.
#1 Schedule a reading when you have some specific questions about your life
While you can ask for just a general reading of your energies without asking any specific questions, you’ll receive much more value if you schedule a tarot reading when you do have some specific concerns you’d like insight into.
#2 Take a few minutes to center yourself (be online at least 5 minutes before your reading starts)
Be sure that you’re available, ready to go, a few minutes before the reading is scheduled to start, and you’re logged on to wherever the reading is going to take place (Instagram, Zoom, FaceTime . . .). Readers are often booked back-to-back and you don’t want to lose valuable minutes from your reading by being late.
#3 Take notes (yes, really!)
Be sure you have paper and pen or a device handy to take notes. Many things that are said in your reading may not make sense at the moment, but you’ll be amazed at how many “Aha!” moments you’ll have later.
Also, your notes will help you get more out of your reading with steps 4, 5, and 6 below.
#4 In advance, make a list of important questions
Make the most of your reading time by deciding your goals in advance. Have a few important questions ready to ask, and have them prioritized so that you’re sure to get to the most important ones within the time you have.
Otherwise your reader will be spending precious minutes of your reading trying to get clear on what you want to know.
#5 Save time for your follow-up questions
Even if you’ve scheduled a 60-minute reading, you’ll find that the time goes by so fast!
Before your tarot reader gets started, let them know that you’d like to save a few minutes at the end of the appointment to ask questions based on the reading. This way, you’ll leave with a sense of completion and understanding.
#6 Listen, and try not to interrupt until your reader has fully interpreted the cards for each question
Let your tarot reader speak and fully interpret the cards for you before interjecting or asking a question. If you have a good reader, they’ll be trying to keep up with the stream-of-consciousness interpretations of the cards that they’re downloading from spirit in the moment.
If you keep interrupting (because you’re excited, or want to validate, or tell a long story that illustrates the point), you’ll break the flow and lose a lot of the divine downloads that are coming through the reader to you.
And, you might miss out on getting to all of your questions, too.
