Are Tarot Cards Accurate?
Are tarot cards always accurate? When people ask this, they usually mean: Is a tarot reading always 100% true?
They often are amazingly accurate, but 100% of the time?
I don’t think anything in life is 100% effective (that would mean that it works for 100% of users) — from medical diagnoses and procedures to any product you can name.
But tarot readings often are breakthrough experiences for clients and can give you answers and next steps that you likely wouldn’t have gotten in any other way.
So let’s talk about how to get the most accuracy from your next tarot reading.
Picking the Right Tarot Reader is Key
After trying a few different tarot readers, you’re likely to find that there are one or two who are almost always right on target for you. This is because, just as you immediately become friends with certain people as soon as you meet, there is also an almost uncanny connection between tarot readers and certain clients.
The stronger that connection, the greater the insights and accuracy of those tarot readings.

What Does Accuracy Really Mean in a Tarot Reading?
Superstitious people often believe that a tarot reader has a psychic ability to read the client’s mind, to know what the question is before it is asked. These kinds of clients often try to trick readers just to test them. They refuse to ask any specific questions in the reading or they even cynically give false information to the reader.
This results in a false reading in which the reader either bases the reading on the false front the client is presenting or the tarot jumps in to give a tough-love reading.
In the first scenario, the client gets the worst results and the lowest level of accuracy, because they aren’t sincere and are actually withholding their energy from their reader.
In the second scenario, the tarot gives the client what spirit believes they need to know about their life purpose, issues they need to deal with, and warns about what may happen if changes aren’t made. In other words, a tough love reading. Hardly ever welcomed and appreciated by the client.
For maximum accuracy, there must be a trusting rapport between the client and the reader, the client must be honest about what they want to learn from the reading, and the tarot reader must have the ability to clearly communicate what tarot has to say about those questions (and what tarot cannot tell them about the questions).

What About Predicting the Exact Name of a Future Soulmate, or Exact Date When Something Will Happen?
If you ever do happen to experience this, it’s just a lucky accident. You’re much more likely to get a description of how to recognize a person who is a potential “soulmate,” what they will be like, how they will treat you, and where you are most likely to meet them.
With questions about when something will happen, the reading is always based on situations that are in play at that moment.
For example, if you’re asking when you will meet “the one”, tarot will answer based on factors such as your current emotional readiness to meet someone (you may think you’re ready but tarot may disagree), where you might be likely to meet someone based on your current daily life, and who you currently know (either as a potential partner or as someone who can introduce you to a potential partner).
That’s why I always say that tarot readings are good for approximately the next 30 days because life is constantly shifting and changing.
You get a new job, you start going to a new church, you volunteer somewhere new, you decide to sign up for a new dating service, you start working on yourself to be more open or happier, you stop spending time with negative people . . . all of this affects what you’ll hear in your next tarot reading.
Because of this, if you know that tarot is helpful for you, it’s best to get a reading every three months or so.
Why? Because there is no pre-determined fate. Potential outcomes are changing by the hour (and sometimes, by the minute) based on what we think, how we choose to feel, and the practical actions that we take. Each one of us, personally, has enormous influence — every day — on what will happen for us in the future.
Here’s the Kind of Accuracy You Can Expect in a Tarot Reading
You should expect valuable insights into the root of the problem or situation, and what can be done about it to improve your life — right now, if possible — for the better.
You should receive a very accurate assessment of the underlying issues, what is likely to happen if nothing changes, and what is likely to happen if you follow the advice given in the reading.
The best tarot readings give you the why and the how, rather than the what and the who. (Although you often will get insight into what someone is thinking or what they are likely to do.)
Timelines are always based on who you are right now and who other people in your life are right now. When any of those “moving pieces” changes, the timeline will change as well.
You already know whom or what you’re asking about. Tarot puts those facts into a framework that gives actual steps to improve the situation (or to keep the situation happy, if the client is worried about things changing from the happiness she is already enjoying).
